[Santa Rosa Beach, FL, September 7, 2022] –Caring & Sharing is hosting its inaugural Diaper Drive sponsored by Specialty Roofers from September 12 to September 30 as part of National Diaper Need Awareness Week.
According to the National Diaper Bank Network, one in three U.S. families struggles to provide enough diapers to keep a baby or toddler clean, dry, and healthy. Babies require up to 12 diapers per day, and at a cost of $70-$80 per month per baby, diapers quickly become a cost many families simply cannot afford. Without a supply of diapers, babies cannot participate in early childhood education or daycare which in turn means many parents cannot return to work or school.
Currently, Caring & Sharing provides Walton County families in need with close to 4,500 diapers a month. The needs greatly outweigh supply, so organizers have set a bold goal of collecting a six month supply of diapers.
“Each month, close to 100 families from our community request diapers and wipes while receiving other services from Caring & Sharing of South Walton. The requests for diapers and wipes often exceed the available supplies in our pantry,” said Caring & Sharing Executive Director, Carly Barnes. “It is our hope that this annual diaper drive, and the support of our community, will allow us to better serve the needs of our clients.” “Caring and Sharing of South Walton is very near and dear to our hearts at Specialty Roofers,” said Erin Bakker, Director of Business Development. “We have worked with them in different capacities over the last several years and feel strongly about their mission. We hope they will always think of us when they need a helping hand.”
Caring & Sharing along with Specialty roofers invite you to join them in collecting a six month supply of diapers to support families in our community and help them with this basic need. Donations of all sizes are accepted; however, size 4, 5, and 6 are the most requested by Caring & Sharing Clients.
Diapers can be dropped off at Caring & Sharing and other participating locations. Visit the Caring & Sharing Facebook Page for drop-off locations and more information. Businesses, organizations or groups also interested in supporting the Diaper Drive may send email inquiries to info@caringandsharingsowal.org.
